"Counting Backwards I Count You in"

Throwing Muses is a three-piece alternative rock band from Rhode Island. The band formed in 1981 when two stepsisters, Kristen Hersh and Tanya Donelly, started practicing songwriting together. Both women also sang and played guitar. They were soon joined by an unusual drummer, David Narcizo. After many years of work, the band released its first album in 1986. Its music is described as imaginative, dreamy and austere, making it fascinating to hear.

Throwing Muses released six more albums over the next 10 years. Throughout its long career, the band has had several hits, including the songs “Dizzy”and “Counting Backwards” off its first album which reached number 11 on the U.S. Modern Rock Charts. Each band member also got involved in side projects.

As of 2011, after several changes in the lineup, the band consists of original members Kristen Hersh and David Narcizo, as well as bass player Bernard Georges. Throwing Muses continues to tour world wide and plans on releasing a new album in 2011. Expect exciting news and music from this influential band.
